Origin of long-term variations in solar and stellar dynamos
Maarit J. Korpi-Lagg (Aalto University)
Global magnetoconvection models are one of the most sophisticated tools for studying the origin of long-term variations in solar and stellar dynamos. However, the huge computational resources required for running them over long enough time scales for this particular research question has been a severe prohibiting factor.
I this talk I will review the results obtained so far, their implications, and comparisons to standard dynamo theories.
